July 16 Is New Deadline for Providers to Update Their NPI Application
On June 28, CMS announced on its Web site that the agency had extended the deadline for public release of NPI information to August 1, 2007. Psychologists who have an NPI need to update their NPI application information no later than this coming Monday, July 16, to be sure that their updated information is included in the August 1 release.

Call to Action: Help Reverse Medicare Payment Cuts
The APA Practice Organization needs your assistance to help roll back the 9 percent cut in psychologist reimbursement under Medicare Part B that took effect January 1, 2007. The 9 percent cut resulted from action taken late last year by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). One of the APA Practice Organization's highest legislative priorities for 2007 is reversing this steep reduction in Medicare payment for Medicare mental health services.

Hawaii Prescriptive Authority Bill Does Not Survive Governor's Veto
